--- Cantelope Tonight, Dad's Got The Car ---

The other day, Punkin did not want to come home from daycare. She was playing with her friend Kyle, and dressed in what looked like a shortened purple nightgown, very low-heeled dress up shoes, holding a baby doll on her shoulder with one hand, and a few stems of silk flowers in her other hand.

Although she was glad to see me, she backed away from me when I explained that we had to go home. Her stubborn streak flared up and I ended up removing her bodily (picking her up, removing the dress up clothes, etc, and carrying her out of the school) while she protested.

By the time we got home, she was (of course) completely fine, like nothing had ever happened. Hubby asked her how her day was and what she did today.

"Kyle and I got married."

That stopped both of us in our tracks, that's for sure. Of course, that explains the "get up" with the flowers and the baby--BABY?! Oh my. I realized I just carried her bodily out of her own reception. No wonder she was reluctant to leave.

We're not sure who performed the ceremony, or who served as Best Man or Maid of Honor, let alone who the witnesses were. We are pretty sure though, that we can get a quickie annulment.

I told Kyle's father of our children's marriage. He happens to work at the same place I do. After he stopped laughing, he said that Kyle didn't mention anything about that. "Maybe he forgot." I said. "Just like a man" he replied.

In the days that followed, we discovered that the two of them get married every day. Kyle is the first friend that she looks for when she arrives at school. Within moments of her entrance, she takes off her shoes, hunts down the purple dress and puts it on.

Here we thought not being potty-trained would be a deterrent to her dating. At the very least, we had hoped she would be fully potty-trained before her wedding. It turns out though, that the newlyweds are perfect for each other. The groom isn't potty-trained yet either.

She may decide to call this whole thing off though, if he doesn't let her be a PowerPuff Girl. Stay tuned.
