"We're going to Paris, France for Thanksgiving this year. Come with us! You can just leave Punkin with Hubby..."
"Um, no. I don't think so."

Shelley: I didn't know you ate sandwiches open-faced sometimes! That's just odd!
Me: (taking a big bite out of my open-faced sandwich)
Millie: What's wrong with that? I eat my sandwiches like that sometimes.
Shelley: (said with feeling)No you don't! I've never seen you do that! You're just a wanna-be open-faced sandwich-eater!

Punkin goes for her first dentist appointment on Friday. I've decided that I'm going to take a half day that day, and she and I are going to have lunch with Hubby at his work. Then we'll go home, brush her teeth real good and head over to the dentist for the 2:30 appointment. I'm a little worried about how she'll be... they are going to clean her teeth and take x-rays and stuff, and I can not be in the room with her... all my Mommy "what ifs" are on full alert.

--- Working, Playing, Paying ---

After our awesome day of enjoying the fresh air and sunshine, it was time to get work done around the house.

Now that some of the laundry was washed and dried, and the dishes were in the dishwasher, I could give my undivided attention to the closets.

I was motivated to do this a couple of weeks ago, but Bev truly inspired me. It was suddenly time to start "Project Closet." I set small goals for myself. Today, I was only going to work on the closets in our bedroom. That's all. I began with my closet first, naturally. My closet isn't the worst of the the storage spaces in our house, but it is the easiest to clean because I don't need anyone else's input. I planned to get rid of all the clothes I haven't worn in a while, other nonsense and several what-nots that were all just taking up too much space.

the sorting, separating, evaluation and reorganization

I've spared you the "during" picture. Suffice it to say that it looked like my closet and our dresser threw-up all over our bedroom.

Hubby and Punkin were outside washing the car while I was knee-deep in closet trappings. Hubby had told Punkin that we could go to the park in a little while. It was to be a family trip, so I had to cut my sorting, separating, reorganizing and evaluation tsunami short, finish up my closet and get prepared to venture out of the house.

I didn't get Hubby's closet started, but oh! how I wanted to. There is about 9,000 t-shirts (give or take) in his closet that are never worn, as well as the high chair that we used for Punkin (ages ago) that is still fully assembled and taking up valuable real estate in that small space.

I'll tell you, though. I'm a bit glad that I stopped when I did. I moved boxes and emptied boxes and put boxes back on that shelf in my closet, reached, stretched, squatted and bent over. Afterwards, I loaded everything I was parting with into bags for Good Will.

At the park, I was cajoled into cavorting on the playground equipment with Hubby and Punkin. We all had a lot of fun. I did realize, however just how out of shape I really am. Some of that equipment will kill you, I swear!

Easter Sunday, I was very aware which muscles I used in my work and play the day before. Muscles I had forgotten about were suddenly tender and sore. It might be easier to mention the muscles that weren't aching.

I'll admit that I'm a big wuss when it comes to exercise and "weight-lifting." I know this, and I'm at peace with it.

Next weekend I have a date with Hubby's closet. I'm pretty sure there is a floor in there somewhere. I can't wait.
