Roses are red
Violets are blue
If I can be a poet
Surely you can too

When we went to bed last night, Punkin had all sorts of stuff in her bed. The Cinderella Barbie, two babies, a "baby pillow," the little yellow blanket for her babies, a little lantern light, and yes... the blue stool.

--- Where The Heart Is ---

My dearest roommate,

For two weeks I packed up my room, little by little, getting more and more excited about moving in with you. Two car fulls of my 20 years of life from Mount Prospect were tucked into every available nook and cranny of what was very recently just your apartment and storage space. I infringed on your space and completely took over. It was an adjustment for us both. We made it through our "trial period," the ups and downs, and became engaged when we lived there.

We were excited about moving to our new apartment. There was a fireplace, two balconies, a storage space right outside the door and you had a garage for your bikes! We also had a tiny washer and dryer right in the apartment! When I look back on that small living space now, I can't believe we were comfortable there.

As the date of our wedding drew near, we stuffed all of our shower gifts under the dining room table (did we ever eat at that table in that apartment?) Poor Kokomo biffed her head on that stash more times than I can count.

Our wedding was planned there and carried out while we lived there. The merits of our future homes and locations for the new Mr. and Mrs. Circus People were discussed and debated there.

The last few months that we lived at The Pointe we traveled to our "third blue stake on the left" almost daily. We watched it grow from a stick in a pile of dirt to slabs of concrete and wooden frame to drywall and glass windows with a front door with a lock!

Our moving caravan of stuff and family and friends made our townhouse look like a home. We slowly and steadily expanded to fill the space we had. We really started utilizing those crawlspaces, though, when our adorable daughter was born. Now we are nearly bursting at the seams. Our closets and cabinets and cubbyholes are in desperate need of some serious cleaning out and reorganization.

Wherever our home is in the future, let the same roof be over both of our heads. I love you, Sweetheart. Thank you for letting me move in with you.
