Punkin-ism: Tonight when I came home, I copped out of everything for about 45 minutes, and my family let me do it without hassle. I was escorted up the stairs by the rest of the circus and laid down on the bed. Punkin covered me with her blanket and Hubby instructed her to shut the doors and let Mommy sleep for a little bit. I was out cold within 5 minutes. I awoke about 30 minutes later, and when they heard me moving around, they appeared. I was able to whine about pizza just long enough to get buy-in from the other two-thirds so I wouldn't have to cook dinner. It was wonderful. I just 'chilled' the whole evening. The only thing that could have enhanced my laid-back feeling would have been a couple of Mai Tais and a warm sunny beach. I'll take what I can get, though. |
09.22.00 --- A New 'dition to the Three Ring Circus! --- Last night we purchased the most expensive helium balloon in our history. And they threw in a 2000 Eddie Bauer Ford Expedition along with it. Color: Medium Wedgewood Blue. Our salesman was a nice guy name Arnie, not your typical car salesman. Arnie tried to help put the mini-Barbie back into it's stand for Punkin. We laughed, along with one of Arnie's co-workers that we had never thought we would see the day when a car salesman was playing Barbie's with our daughter. Mid-laughter, I glanced over at Hubby and said "you can bet I'll be telling this story." He laughed and agreed. Punkin was very much playing to her audience with Arnie, which was a good thing. It was creeping up on past her bedtime and I wasn't sure how much longer her good mood would continue. She seemed to like Arnie. He got up at one point and brought her a big red balloon with a blue string on it. She was tickled to get the balloon and as we waited to finish the paperwork, we all took turns, including Arnie, playing with Punkin and the big red balloon. She even smiled and said "Thank you Arrrrrnieeeee" when we left. Hubby inspected the truck with a fine tooth comb inside and out before we left the lot. He spent the ride home, and some time after we got home, going over all the features of the new truck. He excitedly showed me several of them. Hubby: See that button on the side of your seat? From Hubby: Once back home and out of the garage, he scoped out the Expedition mailing list, ran back out into the garage, did *something* to the truck and beckoned me to come see. He wanted to show me how he had raised the truck up a couple of inches, thanks to something he had just read on the internet. It's fun seeing him get all excited about his "new toy." This morning, the balloon had lost all of it's helium and was sitting on the floor in the living room. For all the money we paid for that thing, we should probably take it back. (As for the title... what did you think I meant by new 'dition?) *wink, wink* |
