Time to "kek up"

Ah… the beginning of a new month. Time to start over. Time to catch up.

Suddenly, the Three Ring Circus has been busy catching up with friends that we haven't seen in a while.

A couple of weekends ago, The Three Ring Circus spent time with our friends Ron and Ann and their two boys. The weather was awesome, and the company was great. This was really the first time our respective 'circuses' have hung out together, and I was suitably impressed. The boys were very well behaved, and shared their backyard (and toys) with Punkin willingly. Their backyard is a virtual playground for kids and adults. They have a swing set, a sandbox, trampoline, one of those kid-sized electric jeeps, a swimming pool, and lots of room to run around. The food was really great, too. Ann is quite the hostess. We all had a good time.

Heather and I finally got together again after four months or so. It was great to have a chance to talk to her face-to-face again. Quick phone calls and willy-nilly emails don't do justice to the two giggling high school girls that live (somewhere) inside us still. She is a strong woman who has been through a lot, and I admire the life she's made for herself.

This weekend Hubby and I will be partying it up at Sim and Tara's house in the boonies. Hubby works with Sim, and we give him and his wife, Tara grief that they live so far away they're nearly in California. In reality, they live in the same state, quite literally in Boone County. They throw a heckuva party each year, and Sim has only come close to setting their house on fire once or twice with the fireworks display!

Punkin will be babysitting Dit while we're at the party. Dit already has arts and craft activities planned for the occasion. I've also been told that Dit and Mom have been doing some shopping recently, and Punkin is in for a couple of new outfits! (Let's hear it for Aunts and Grandmas!)

In looking at the calendar, I spy a picnic, an anniversary party, and a company party downtown scheduled for the weekends ahead. Oh! And there are the visits with the Grandmas (Millie, Mom, and Bio-Mom) to schedule, we might even see a Grandpa or two along the way. I also know that we need to get in touch with our other friends Mike and Debbie. We've been invited to their son's first birthday party. We're not going to be able to attend, but we'd love to visit with them, too!

Phew! After all that it looks like we'll be spending some more time catching up at the beginning of September. This time it'll be us catching up on rest!
